About Oxley
Settlement of the area dates from the 1850s, with land used mainly for grazing and crop farming. Today, there is still some acreage blocks, however this is fast becoming developed due to the popularity and growth of the area. Positioned 11km south-west of Brisbane’s CBD, with the Brisbane River as its northern border and located opposite Fig Tree Pocket, residents love Oxley’s family friendly atmosphere, access to efficient public transport and its proximity to the city’s major arterial roads.
Oxley is a mix of low-set brick homes, Queenslander style homes and recently constructed or renovated homes. There are many new homes being constructed in Oxley at the moment which is contributing to the suburb’s streetscape looking ever more modern and appealing to residents and investors. This suburb presents properties ranging from entry-level opportunities to family dream homes that accommodate every need.
The elevated properties in Oxley also enjoy stunning views. Family friendly and ultra convenient, Oxley residents have shops, restaurants, local pubs and two golf courses at their doorsteps. It is a relaxed, pet friendly, leafy suburb of Brisbane.
Like all the suburbs in the Walter Taylor District, Oxley public transport is first class with frequent bus services and railway station. Oxley also has easy access to all major highways via the Ipswich Motorway.
Major features of the area include Queensland Police Academy, Canossa Private Hospital, Blunder Road Shopping Centre, Corinda Golf Course, Oxley Golf Club, Oxley Golf Driving Range, Rikki Bailey Park and Oxley Primary School.
