About Corinda
Located just 9km from Brisbane CBD, Corinda’s western boundary is the Brisbane River.
Settlement of the area dates from the 1850s, with land used mainly for grazing. There is still some acreage blocks located towards the end of Blackheath Rd and Cliveden Rd with up to 2.5 acres of land. Corinda is a diverse suburb, with high density areas located close to the train station supported by units and town houses being a major contrast to the large acreage blocks.
Corinda has an established business district which includes a Coles and many thriving small businesses and restaurants, located near the train line on Oxley Rd. This suburb hits the sweet spot in terms of being far enough from the city to enjoy a truly suburban way of living, however close enough to be convenient for those with a lifestyle or work that sees them travelling to the city.
Corinda provides plenty of appealing activities for the whole family to enjoy, boasting a bowls club, tennis club, library, some excellent schools, numerous parks and a well-maintained shopping precinct. Serviced by a railway as well as Brisbane buses and taxis, public transport in and out of Corinda is established and effective.
Corinda’s streetscape is an appealing mix of renovated and unrenovated Queenslanders, early postwar dwellings and new architecturally built homes. Boasting stunning views to Mount Coot-tha, Corinda’s premier properties are largely found west of the railway line.
Corinda is an in-demand Brisbane suburb and has been known to experience healthy price rises.
Major features of the area include top schools (St Aidans Anglican Girls School, St Josephs Catholic Primary School, Corinda High School, Corinda Primary), Parks (Dunlop Park, Nosworthy Park, Benarrawa Park, Francis Lookout) St Aidans Sportsfield, Corinda Medical Centre, Corinda Horse and Pony Club, Public Swimming Pool and the Carrington Boat club.
